Meet Victor and Gabriela Ramos, the heart and soul behind Casa De Lola.

As proud Caribbean siblings of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage, Victor and Gaby grew up in kitchens filled with the aromas, stories, and traditions passed down through generations. Inspired by their grandmother Lola — who immigrated from the Dominican Republic with little more than her resilience and recipes — they founded Casa De Lola as a love letter to their roots and a bridge to their community.

Cooking has always been more than a skill for Victor and Gaby; it’s a way of honoring the past, connecting people, and celebrating the rich diversity of Caribbean culture. What began as intimate gatherings of home-cooked meals for friends has blossomed into a thriving catering and pop-up company, blending traditional Dominican and Puerto Rican dishes with their own modern twists.

For them, food is a vessel for storytelling — a reflection of history, love, resistance, and joy. Through Casa De Lola and their cultural event series, Capicúa, they are creating spaces where Caribbean in Los Angeles can feel seen, celebrated, and at home.

Their mission is simple: to nourish the body and soul, to honor their ancestors, and to build a lasting legacy of community, culture, and pride.

At Casa De Lola, every meal is an invitation to connect, celebrate, and carry forward the spirit of those who came before.
